A Word From Your Host, Justin Woodbury
Hi, I'm Justin.
I’m a financial advisor, a podcaster, and a speaker, but the titles I’m most proud of are husband to my beautiful wife, Emily, and father to two amazing children, Jackson and Juliette. In 2016, at just two years old, Jackson was diagnosed with severe autism. Through that journey, I’ve learned to value different ways of thinking and living. Where most people welcome “normal” or the status quo, I’ve learned to embrace different. For that and so much more, I will be forever grateful and humbled that God gifted us Jackson, who is perfect as he is.
In 2024, after fifteen years in the IMO space, I resigned my position as Chief Marketing Officer to become a financial advisor and serve my clients the same way I had served advisors for years. During those years as CMO, I had the privilege of sitting in the offices and homes of dozens of top advisors from every major IMO in the industry. Those conversations challenged my thinking and gave me a unique opportunity to learn what really mattered to advisors.
What made that experience so powerful was that I wasn’t telling advisors how to do their jobs as a marketer who had never walked in their shoes. Instead, I listened and learned what was most important to them; a skill I learned from Jackson, who teaches me daily the importance of slowing down, listening differently, and appreciating perspectives outside my own.
Now, as an advisor myself, my viewpoint has been stretched even further by working alongside elite advisors and thought leaders who refuse to settle for the status quo. That’s why I launched Beyond The IMO- to pay it forward by creating an unaffiliated platform where other advisors can have their thinking challenged by those same elite advisors and industry leaders.

About Our Producer, Naomi Walker
A native of Colorado, Naomi is easygoing, thoughtful, and quietly sharp, with a strong appreciation for good storytelling and purposeful work. At this stage of her life, Naomi is focused on learning the craft of editing and producing, with a simple philosophy that guides her work: creating more than consuming.
What drew her to this podcast was not just the opportunity to learn something new, but the purpose behind it. She believes in the why of the show, and that belief shows up in how intentionally she approaches each episode. She cares about doing the work well, respecting the message, and continuing to sharpen her skills along the way.
Outside of the podcast, Naomi enjoys being outdoors, reading, playing guitar, and going down the occasional rabbit hole researching random topics just because she is curious. She sees learning as a privilege, not a burden, and is motivated less by recognition and more by growth, discipline, and becoming more capable over time.
Through this experience, Naomi is developing new skills, strengthening her time management, and learning what it means to stay diligent, whether something is brand new or already familiar. She brings a fresh perspective, a steady presence, and a genuine desire to do meaningful work behind the scenes.
